Brentford Women host Ashford Town in the London and South East Premier Division on Sunday 28 September at Wheatsheaf Park (2pm kick-off).
The Bees return to league action after progressing to the third round qualifying of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup last weekend.
For some in the Brentford ranks, the clash against Ashford Town represents a chance to face their former club; Ashley Cheatley and Lucy Potter both joined from the Tangerines ahead of the 2024/25 season, with midfielder Alissa Down also making the swap during the title-winning campaign.
Carly Williams’ side are currently second in the LSE Premier table, having had a perfect start to the season, winning all five of their opening games and only conceding once.
They sit behind first-placed Saltdean United, who boast the same number of points but have a better goal difference.
Williams is excited for her side to play at Wheatsheaf Park for the first time in the 2025/26 season: "Taking Wheatsheaf on as our home this week, it's an exciting project for all of the girls and me.
"We're really looking forward to playing there, we know the facilities are amazing as well, so we’re really excited for that.
“It’s our opportunity to go there and make it our home for two games in a row.
“Ashford have been competing well in the league so, for us, it’s a case of business faces on and we go again.”
The Bees play back-to-back fixtures at Wheatsheaf Park, as they welcome Sport London E Benfica in the league on Wednesday 1 October (7.45pm kick-off).
Last time out
The west Londoners made it six wins out of six in all competitions last time out, beating Tonbridge Angels 2-0 away from home in the FA Cup.
Ilana Harris-Walters netted her first goal for the club in the first half with a neat finish from a difficult angle.
Skipper Maddie Phillips then opened her account for the season with a long-range free-kick to ensure they progressed to the third round qualifying, where they will face Reading Women on the road on Sunday 5 October.
Speaking after the win, Williams said: "Obviously, we wanted to get the win and progress into the next round.
"With the overall performance, we're all reflecting and know we can probably perform better than we did but, ultimately, we got that result over the line that we needed.
"Our reflection at half-time was definitely that we were dominant and we needed to be more ruthless with the chances we were creating... we saw lots of positive bits that we changed in the second half."
The last time the Bees played at Wheatsheaf Park was in the 2023/24 season, as they beat Richmond Park 2-0 thanks to a Chloe Logie goal and Kirsty Matthews' volley from range.
About Ashford Town
Ashford Town are yet to win a game in the LSE Premier this season. In their opening five fixtures, they have lost three times and picked up two draws.
Their two points from games against Aylesford and Millwall Lionesses see them sit in 10th place in the division.
The Tangerines came from behind last weekend to beat Cray Wanderers 4-3 in the FA Cup.
Eleonora Cottrell, who left the Bees after the end of the 2024/25 campaign, has recently joined the Middlesex-based outfit.
