An attacking full-back who enjoys the defensive aspects of the game as much as she does scoring from range, Maddie Phillips adds experience and skill to the Bees' right-hand side.
After a standout 2024/25 season in which Phillips scored 13 goals across all competitions, Carly Williams appointed her as club captain for the 2025/26 campaign.
Phillips is a lifelong Bees fan and has a great uncle, Tommy Higginson, who played 433 times for the west Londoners, making her role as captain even more special.
In her first season as skipper, Phillips made 24 appearances having been forced out with injury in the middle of the campaign.
She came back stronger, adapting to a new position in holding midfield, and scored her first hat-trick for the Bees in a 10-0 win over Sport London e Benfica. Overall in the 2025/26 season she scored nine times and assisted five goals.
Phillips came through the ranks at Chelsea, spending seven years there between the ages of 12 and 19, then playing for Charlton Athletic before joining Brentford after a four-year hiatus from the game.
As well as this, the Bees defender was called up to Under-18 and Under-19 England camps, playing two games against Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
