Known for her quickness, intensity, and strength, Lucy Potter has become a standout player across multiple clubs, now representing Brentford FC Women’s First Team.

Her footballing journey began at Fulham Academy and saw her progress through Kingstonian Ladies and Ashford Town Women before joining Brentford. During her time at Ashford, Lucy made significant contributions, including scoring a memorable goal against Dorking Wanderers and helping her team secure league and cup victories. She was named Manager’s Player of the Month and Players' Player in consecutive seasons and won Player of the Month during her first season at Ashford.

Outside of football, Lucy works as an Assistant Manager for a trade company, and her leadership skills on the job translate well to the pitch. Managing a team in her day job allows her to motivate and drive her football team toward success, an attribute that shines through in her performances.

Reflecting on her short but impactful time at Brentford so far, Lucy highlights the club’s high standards and professional setup. A standout memory was the team’s 18-1 victory, which serves as an indicator of the potential for many more great moments to come. Lucy has ambitious goals for her time with Brentford: "Promotion, promotion, promotion." She is driven to help the team rise through the ranks, aiming to bring her experience from Tier 4/5 football to support Brentford’s ascent.

When asked about the future of women’s football, Lucy is confident and optimistic. She sees a bright future ahead, with the sport rapidly growing. She believes that Brentford has all the tools to reach the Championship or even the Women’s Super League. Her advice to young girls aspiring to play football is simple but powerful: “Get your head down, work hard, and play with a smile on your face. The results and opportunities will come.”

Lucy Potter's journey exemplifies the role model Brentford FC hopes to showcase — a player who works hard both on and off the pitch, and who is dedicated to the growth of women’s football for future generations.
