Two Brentford Youth Team midfield players have been nominated for an award.
Reece Cole and Zain Westbrooke, who play for The Bees in the Under-18 Professional Development League, are both up for the League Football Education Goal of the Month award for October.
Clubs put forward their best goals scored by Youth Team players at Football League clubs every month, whether in the Professional Development League or Football League Youth Alliance, and the two Brentford players were named in the 13-goal shortlist.
Reece scored his against Leeds United, firing home the fourth in a 4-1 win from 25 yards.
Zain notched his away to Cardiff City, volleying home the winner in a 2-1 victory.
LFE Chief Executive Alan Sykes said: “This competition draws attention to the next wave of talented young players that are on the apprenticeship programme at clubs across the land.
“It remains hugely popular and features some exceptional goals.”
