Brentford Football Club

Brentford Under-21s travel to AFC Bournemouth Under-21s in Premier League 2 action on Monday 26 October (7pm kick-off GMT).

The young Bees travel to the Wyatt Homes Stadium as they look to return to winning ways in the competition.

Sam Saunders' side will look to bounce back from a late loss in the west London derby against Fulham, despite a positive performance on the day.

The Bees currently sit in 17th place in PL2 on six points, having won two and lost three of their opening five games.

Last time out

The west Londoners were unfortunate to fall to a 2-1 defeat to Fulham Under-21s at Wheatsheaf Park last weekend, beaten by a last-minute strike after levelling late.

Fábio Carvalho, Ji-soo Kim and Gustavo Nunes all played 90 minutes in the derby, in which Fulham struck first early on from a corner.

Andre Grey then netted a deserved equaliser in the 88th minute after relentless pressure from the Bees in the second half, but Daniel Casey sunk those in red and white with a curling winner with virtually the last kick of the game.

Saunders' side's last win came in a 4-2 victory in the Premier League Cup, with Joseph Wheeler-Henry starring with a brace as the young Bees defeated Derby with 10 men for over 30 minutes.

About Bournemouth Under-21s

Bournemouth U21s currently sit in ninth place in Premier League 2 following a strong start to the campaign that has only seen them lose once so far.

They come into the game off the back of a three-game unbeaten run, most recently drawing 3-3 away at Brighton. Their three recorded wins in PL2 have come against Stoke, Middlesbrough and Chelsea.

Like Brentford, this is Bournemouth's first season in PL2, with the sides having faced each other twice last year in the Professional Development League, with both teams winning their away fixture 3-2.

Jonny Day leads the goalscoring charts in the division for the Cherries with 3 goals, whilst Harold William, Charlie Stevens and Dane Ndimikum have all notched twice.
