Brentford B will face Monaco in a friendly at the AS Monaco Training Centre on Thursday (10.30am kick-off GMT).

In the midst of a strong run of Professional Development League fixtures, Sam Saunders’ side will look to challenge a quality European outfit away from home.

Brentford are no strangers to the French side, with the two teams having faced off in each of the last four seasons, home and away.

The young Bees have been in scintillating form as of late. After a 3-1 loss away from home to Watford in late February, the group have ticked off five consecutive wins in the league.

Two of those, 3-2 wins over Millwall and Bournemouth, saw late winners from Riley Owen and Beau Redknapp, highlighting the side’s ability to fight until the final whistle to secure important results.

Last time out

The west Londoners secured a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday last time out, which was the side’s fifth PDL win in a row.

After going behind early in the game, Ethan Laidlaw responded to equalise for the Bees.

The winner came through Owen, with the midfielder scoring his fourth goal of the campaign.

Previously against Monaco, Brentford fell to a 2-1 defeat away from home in March 2025.

The hosts went into the half-time break 2-0 up and, despite a second-half goal from Caelan Avenell, an equaliser couldn’t be found for the Bees.
