Brentford Football Club today provides a mid-2025/26 season update on reported fan behaviour incidents and a summary of cases and sanctions.
The club publishes these updates regularly to provide transparency on the action we take to listen and act in response to incidents at Gtech Community Stadium and at away games.
From the start of pre-season up to and including the Tottenham Hotspur game on 1 January, the club issued 205 individuals with sanctions due to various fan behaviour incidents.
Of this number:
69 people were ejected from the stadium (home and away games) or refused entry
58 received either a written or verbal warning or had their ticketing account closed
68 received a club ban of up to six matches
Eight received a club ban lasting one season or longer
Two were subject to an enforced seat move
In addition, 15 people were given a football banning order or received a fine through the courts.
Of those sanctioned, the majority relate to away supporters, and there were further incidents where a club-issued match ban or sanction wasn’t applicable.
The 220 sanctioned offences are broken down as follows:
191 instances of breaking ground regulations or ticket conditions*
21 drug offences
7 acts of violence or anti-social behaviour
One incident of homophobic abuse
*Ground regulations and ticket conditions include but are not limited to: drinking in view of the pitch; smoking in the stadium; away fans in home areas; failure to comply with stewards; intoxication
These findings show an increase in the number of sanctions compared to the same point last season, which we believe represents a growing confidence among fans in how to report misbehaviour and an increased belief that the club will deal with incidents.
Dedicated communications before and during matches have helped raise awareness of the multiple methods fans can use to report incidents on matchdays. The introduction of free stadium wi-fi has further helped overcome weak connectivity as a barrier to making a report during the match.
How to make a report while at the match
We’d like to reiterate to all fans that if you see misbehaviour in the stadium, the best course of action is to report it immediately and not wait until after the match.
Making a report during the match means our security team can investigate incidents in real-time and take swift action to prevent any further disruption to your matchday, or before incidents escalate.
