Brentford Under-21s return to Professional Development League action on Monday as they face Bournemouth Under-21s away from home (1pm kick-off GMT).

Sam Saunders’ side will arrive at AFC Bournemouth Performance Centre for their second-consecutive away game following Friday’s win over Millwall.

With the sides separated by three points at the top end of the PDL table, Bournemouth holding a game in hand on the Bees, Monday’s clash could prove to be a pivotal one as both teams target a play-off spot.

Last time out

Brentford prevailed 3-2 over Millwall at Millwall Training Ground last time out.

Ethan Laidlaw got the Bees off to the best start with a first-half brace, seeing Saunders' side take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The hosts managed to get the game back on level terms with two second-half goals, however the match was won late on as Riley Owen found the back of the net.

Previously against Bournemouth last November, Brentford fell to a 3-2 defeat at Wheatsheaf Park.

Despite goals from Iwan Morgan and Romelle Donovan, the west Londoners couldn’t find an equaliser late on in the game.
