Alan Judge said he was struggling to put in to words his emotions after scoring the goal that put Brentford in to The Championship.
The attacking midfield player scored the only goal as Brentford beat Preston North End on Friday.
He smashed home a penalty on the half hour after George Saville had been fouled.
Brentford were awarded a second spot kick after half time but Alan slipped when taking it and fired it over.
The Bees took the game and with Leyton Orient and Rotherham United losing, that was enough to send them up.
Alan, who joined Brentford on loan from Blackburn Rovers in January, said he had never won promotion before and didn't think it had sunk in yet.
“I don’t have words for what has happened,” he said.
“I don’t think it has hit me fully yet.
“I am delighted.
“For the first penalty it was the longest I have ever had to wait.
“I just hit it as hard as I could and it went in.
“I slipped for the second one.
“It is an unbelievable feeling; I have never done anything like this before.
“I knew it could happen when I came here.”
Alan admitted to nerves before kick-off but said it was the sort of feeling every player wanted.
He said The Bees deserved the win.
“I don’t remember them having a shot today,” said Alan.
“They couldn’t get out of their half in the second half.
“I felt the butterflies at kick off but that is what you want.
“These are the sort of games you want to play in.”
Jake Bidwell said he was delighted to have won promotion.
“I don’t think it has sunk in yet,” he said.
“There is not a lot I can say.
“I am delighted.”
Jake said the important thing was the result but he felt Brentford were the better team.
He added that the players sensed from the crowd that something was happening elsewhere that could send them up but they did not know what.
“I think we played alright from what I can remember, we pretty much dominated the game,” he said.
“The main thing was the result, thankfully we got that.
“We knew something had happened.
“The gaffer told us Leyton Orient were 3-1 up at half time.
“We knew something had happened but didn’t know what.
“We tried to keep concentration.
“They put balls in the box.”
Jake joined Brentford permanently in the summer after being on loan for most of the previous two seasons.
He said it was an obvious move to make.
“I don't think it was a big decision,” said Jake.
“Everyone had been great to me here; the next step for the Club and for me is The Championship.
“That is where we will be, I am delighted.”
