Red & white centenary wall – FAQs

What is the Brentford red & white centenary wall?

To mark and celebrate our 100 years of Brentford wearing red and white stripes we are inviting fans to become part of a photomosaic mural that will be located near the box office at Gtech Community Stadium.

The mural wall features a group of Brentford hall of famers: Amy Crook, Chris Kamara MBE, Kevin O'Connor, Lloyd Owusu, Marcus Gayle, Peter Gelson, Pontus Jansson, Sam Saunders and Terry Evans.

The mural will be made up entirely of photos submitted by Brentford fans.

What is a photomosaic?

A photomosaic is a collage in which many photos are arranged together to form a larger primary image. In the case of the red & white centenary wall, this is an image made up of thousands of smaller photographs that will be supplied by Brentford fans.

Photomosaics work like digital images. With a digital image, the picture you see is made up of a set of individual colour pixels and, when put together, these pixels create an image. A photomosaic uses the pictures supplied by fans as its pixels and the images come together to make the larger wall image.

How will the red & white centenary wall be created?

Intelligent photomosaic software will analyse the colours of the mosaic design against the colours of all the photographs uploaded by fans. Based on these colour patterns, the software will then automatically place each uploaded photograph to the best-matched spot on the mosaic canvas.

What will the red & white centenary wall be made of? How long will it last?

The photomosaic will be manufactured using high quality panels that are graffiti, scratch, impact, and weather resistant. The red & white centenary wall will be on display for the club’s 2025/26 season. The intention is to display the Brentford red & white centenary wall at the Gtech Community Stadium for at least five years.

Who can be part of the red & white centenary wall?

Any Brentford fans from across the world will have the opportunity to submit a photograph for the wall. More information on uploading photographs and the vetting process for images can be found below.

Each submission costs £45 and all club profits from submissions will be donated to the club’s Heart of West London partnership.

Any supporter who submits a photograph will also be offered the opportunity to purchase a memento celebrating their place on the wall – see ‘What is a Brentford red & white centenary wall memento?'

How many fan images will make up the wall?

The wall can hold up to the 5,500 images and can be created with a minimum of 1,200 photos.

How will I be able to locate my image on the wall?

Once the wall is created and installed, there will be functionality for all fans featured to see a visual representation of where their image is on the wall. This will help fans to locate their image in the mosaic on physical wall. An email will be sent to you with this information.

You can upload JPEG and PNG photos (files ending in .jpg, .jpeg or .png). Your image should be landscape and between 500kb – 5mb.

To check a photo’s file format and size on an android phone, look for a ‘details’ button or menu option in your photo app. If you cannot see this, try holding down your finger on the image, as this often opens more options.

To check a photo’s file format and size on a PC, right-click on your photo and choose ‘Properties’ from the menu that appears. In ‘Properties’ you will be able to view the format and the size.

The larger your photo, the longer it will take to upload. Do not refresh the screen during the upload process. If you need to reduce the size of your chosen image, software/tools to help you to do this can be found online.

Will photographs be vetted? What happens if my image is rejected?

All photographs will be vetted to ensure they are suitable and that they do not feature content that is derogatory, discriminatory, obscene, inappropriate, indecent, pornographic, seditious, offensive, defamatory, threatening, liable to incite racial hatred or acts of terrorism, menacing, blasphemous or in any way considered explicit. We reserve the right to withdraw your photo should we deem that it does not comply with our restrictions and/or you intended to cause insult, embarrassment or offence to an individual, group or organisation. If we reject your photo, you will be informed by email and you will be offered the opportunity to upload a new image. Any new images uploaded will be subject to the same checks.     By submitting an image and/or message to be used on the Brentford red & white centenary wall and any associated product/s, you warrant that you own the intellectual property rights to your image and message (if applicable) and such submission and envisaged use on the red & white centenary wall will not infringe the rights of any third party.
