Simon Moore said the Brentford squad were “really disappointed” not to have picked up three points against Shrewsbury Town.
The Bees drew 0-0 with the Shropshire side at a wet Griffin Park.
The Brentford goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Bees Player, said both teams could have won the match.
“We’re disappointed, I think we could have got three points tonight,” said Simon.
“If we had taken our chances we would have walked away with three points.
“We could also have gone away with nothing as well; they had a few good chances.
“It was difficult conditions, a bit of scrappy game; we’ll take the draw, clean sheet and move on to Saturday.
“They come here and were organised but they also got it down and played some good football.
“It was an open game.
“We are all really disappointed, we wanted to get another three points, our home form has been really good.
“But it is not the end of the world, we got a draw, got a clean sheet and we have to move on to the next game.”
Simon kept his fourth clean sheet of the season in the draw and made a few good saves in wet conditions.
He praised the defence in front of him for their work and said he believed the attacking side of Brentford’s game would come together.
He added The Bees would welcome Crawley Town to Griffin Park on Saturday with confidence high.
“I made a couple of saves in the first half and a couple of half saves in the second half,” he said.
“The job of the back four and goalkeeper is to keep the ball out of the net.
“We did that tonight and that’s all you can ask for.
“As soon as we get the first goal we start to relax and play good football.
“Tonight, we had chance after chance, if you don’t put them away, sometimes you get punished.
“Luckily we held firm tonight.
“We’ll work on it Thursday and Friday and go in to Saturday full of confidence.”
It appeared as if Shrewsbury would have a golden chance to win the match when referee Tim Robinson awarded them a penalty.
The official pointed to the spot when a Marvin Morgan shot hit Tony Craig’s arm but he changed his mind after discussion with his assistant Barry Holderness, who was closer to the incident and had signalled for a corner.
“You don’t get it very often, you normally scream and shout in vein,” said Simon.
“The linesman didn’t flag and we told the ref he was pointing for a corner
“The ref changed his mind.
“I’m not sure if it was a penalty or not.
“It hit Tony’s hand but I think it was 50/50, you see them given and not.
“You can slow it down and look at replays but the ref only gets one look, it’s very difficult for him.”
Brentford also could have won it when Paul Hayes had the ball in the back of the net.
The striker turned home a low Adam Forshaw shot but a flag from assistant referee Matthew Bounassisi halted Brentford’s celebrations.
“I was cheering but looked up to see the linesman had his flag up,” said Simon.
“Most of our goals for wins have come late on so it was disappointing that didn’t count.
“It’s not the end of the world, we got a point we move on.”
