Thomas Frank believes that Brentford are ‘adding layers’ following their third clean sheet in four Premier League games.

The Bees extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight matches with a goalless draw at Elland Road.

“It was a very solid away performance against a good Leeds side,” Frank began.

“I said before the game that I think they are good – they play with unbelievable intensity and they are very front-footed in their pressure – and they made it difficult for us to play.

“It’s one of the most difficult away grounds with the noise they get going.

“From Villa and Newcastle away, where we struggled a little bit, we’ve definitely added an extra layer defensively and mentality-wise. We defended fantastically and gave almost nothing away in many ways."

Frank continued: “Offensively we needed to create a bit more, but sometimes you just don’t have that quality.

“Second half, we had four or five good moments where we needed to get more.

“We have a good mentality and a good structure. We have very good defensive principles.

“Now, because of the consistency in what we’re doing, we’re just adding those extra layers.

“We defended calmly in the low block - we know that we can do that very well – and we stuck to the principles, which I was happy about.”
