Tony Craig said Brentford picked up a “very good point” against Shrewsbury Town.
The Bees extended their unbeaten run to 11 npower League One matches with a 0-0 draw in Shropshire.
Tony said conditions were difficult and Brentford took a while to adapt to a pitch that had taken a large amount of rain in recent days.
He said both teams could have won the game and a draw was a fair result.
“I think this is a very good point,” he said.
“There were difficult circumstances with the pitch, which was a bit bobbly, the wind and the rain.
“We had a bit of everything.
“For a 0-0, I thought it was quite an entertaining game.
“Both teams had chances in the first half.
“We had a slow start; I think it took us 20 minutes to adapt to the conditions.
“From then, we built the momentum.
“We had a few chances in the second half, so did they.
“I think a draw was a fair result.”
The Bees made it eight clean sheets for the League One season with their Shropshire shut out.
Tony said it was a day to take no chances and said The Bees defended well from the front.
“We looked before the game and the gaffer [Uwe Rösler] said not to take any chances at the back,” he said.
“From front to back, I think we defended well.
“You couldn’t trust the pitch.
“We had to be alert and got a good clean sheet.
“We couldn’t play football, we had to adapt our game.
“It was a good defensive display.
“This is a good point.”
Brentford sit fourth in League One after 24 games, two points off the top with games in hand on two of the teams above them.
The Bees face AFC Bournemouth at Griffin Park on Tuesday, January 1, New Year’s Day.
The south coast side are fifth in the table, four points worse off but are unbeaten in 15 in all competitions.
“I think everyone would have taken this position at the start of the season,” said Tony.
“I think the fans would and the players would.
“Long may it continue.
“I’m looking forward to New Year’s Day, it’s the sort of game you love to play in.
“Bournemouth are on fire, we’re playing well, it has the ingredients for a cracking game.
“It should be a great spectacle.”
