Brentford goalkeeper Nik Tzanev is now just one win from the possibility of playing in the Olympic Games.
The teenager is in New Zealand’s Under-23 squad for the Pacific Games tournament which doubles as qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro and start next August.
New Zealand beat Vanuatu this morning, Friday 10 July, in the semi-finals, scoring two second half goals.
Nik did not play but New Zealand are now in the final and will play Fiji on Sunday, 12 July.
If they win that match they will qualify for the Olympic Games.
Nik, 18, is one of three goalkeepers in the Under-23 squad and has three Under-20 caps but has yet to play at the higher level.
