Brentford fan and wheelchair tennis star Andy Lapthorne was a two-time runner-up in the Australian Open this weekend.
Andy, a Club and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust Disabled Ambassador, was runner-up in the Quad singles and Quad doubles in Melbourne.
The Australian Open is one of the four biggest, major, tournaments on the wheelchair tennis calendar and Andy came through a round-robin to reach the singles final.
He beat Anders Hard, of Sweden, and Nick Taylor, from the United States of America, in the round-robin but lost to David Wagner.
He finished second in the group and met Wagner again in the final.
Although he took the first set, Wagner came back to take the title.
Andy then paired up with Anders Hard to take on Taylor and Wagner in the Quad doubles final but the Americans took the title.
Andy won a silver medal in the doubles in the Quad classification of wheelchair tennis – for those who have impairments in all four limbs – at the London 2012 Paralympics.
He already has one title to his name this season after winning the Melbourne Open last week.
