Toumani Diagouraga said Brentford were disappointed not to have won their Sky Bet Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Bees drew 0-0 with Wednesday at Griffin Park last night, their second goalless draw in succession after one at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Brentford started well and had a goal ruled out for offside but Wednesday came back in to the game and hit the post late in the first half.
Neither team could find the breakthrough in an even second period, so the points were shared.
Toumani, speaking to Bees Player after the match, said Brentford knew their visitors would be physical and well-organised.
He said The Bees did enough to get the win but couldn’t find the crucial goal.
“Sheffield Wednesday certainly did get stuck in,” said Toumani.
“They were well-organised.
“We knew it would be hard to break them down.
“We tried but we couldn’t get the goal we wanted.
“We want to win our home games.
“We have done everything today to try and win it but couldn’t get the breakthrough.
“We need to keep going and focus on Saturday.
“We are disappointed not to win.
“I thought we did enough to win the game but we didn’t get the victory.
“We have to move on and try to win the next one.”
Wednesday dominated the end of the first half but Toumani said Brentford Manager Mark Warburton told his side to keep playing their game.
He said The Bees were creating chances and now had to take them.
“After Sheffield Wednesday got on top the manager told us to stick to the way we play,” said Toumani.
“We went back out and did enough to win the game.
“The chances are coming; we played well but aren’t getting the luck.
“I am sure we will get it.”
Toumani was a second half substitute and said Warburton told him to go out and get the ball moving in midfield.
It was Toumani’s fifth Sky Bet Championship appearance this term, all of which have come in Brentford’s last five games.
It was also his 150th league game for The Bees.
Toumani said he was working hard to earn his place in the squad, and the side, and he was being told to carry on playing the way he had been in recent weeks.
“The gaffer wanted me to get on there and play,” said Toumani
“He wanted me to do what I had been doing lately.
“That is what I tried to do.
“We have a big squad, it is a team game, everyone is ready and when you are asked to do your job you have to go out and do your best.
“I am trying to work hard and be involved as much as possible.
“The manager tells me to work hard and keep doing what I am doing.
“I go to training every morning ready to give 150 per cent and hopefully he keeps thinking about me.”
