Shaleum Logan said Brentford’s win over Coventry City was what they deserved.
The Bees came back from conceding an early goal to win 2-1 with Harry Forrester scoring twice, including a stoppage time penalty.
Shaleum, speaking to The Bees Player Show after the match, said Brentford had not always got what they merited in recent weeks, but they did against The Sky Blues.
“I’m pleased,” said the right back, who was named Man of the Match by the sponsors at Griffin Park.
“Not just for me but for the team as a whole.
“With some of the results in recent weeks, we have not got what we deserved out of the game.
“That’s always disappointing.
“Today we went to the end and found a win, which is what we deserved.
“Coventry’s goal came out of nothing.
“They also hit the post from 30 yards but Simon Moore has had almost nothing to do.
“When we got the ball down and played, the game was in our hands.
“Harry has shown a cool head twice, especially in the 93rd minute, to win us the game.”
Adam Forshaw also spoke to The Bees Player Show after the match and reiterated Shaleum’s comments.
He said Brentford’s belief showed through.
“The lads were buzzing,” he said.
“It’s what we deserved I think.
“We kept pushing, kept taking chances and in the end it paid off.
“Coventry took the lead, which was a bit of a shock to us.
“We always knew we would have the majority of the play and we have good strikers that will create chances.
“We believed in ourselves and we deserved what we got.”
After the match Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler called for supporters to understand that sometimes his players will go backwards or sideways to keep the ball.
Shaleum said he did not want to play long ball football and all the squad believed possession was the way to win matches.
“I do it myself when I watch games,” he explained.
“It looks easy from the sides but you can’t always see the view the fans see.
“If you can’t go forward you need to turn back and keep hold of the ball.
“We don’t want to just kick it.
“I don’t want to knock it down the line, sometimes I have to, but it’s better to play it in to a little pocket or to the winger.”
Adam completed 90 minutes against Coventry, only his third full match of the campaign.
He explained he had been suffering from bone bruising in his stomach area but was now getting back to full fitness.
“It’s been a frustrating time,” he said.
“I feel I have more to give but the injury is holding me back a little bit.
“I am pleased the gaffer stuck with me and believed I could get through.
“Hopefully I’m coming to the end of it.
“I was told I have a bit of bone bruising and that takes time to heal.
“I could have sat out for a while but I have only missed one game in the league.”
