Adam Forshaw said his winning goal against Oldham Athletic is one he will remember all his life.
Adam scored the only goal of the game as Brentford beat the Greater Manchester side at Griffin Park.
He came in off the right wing to pick up a Farid El Alagui lay off and slot home with his left foot.
It was his first goal in professional football and he said it relieved his frustration at not finding the net so far.
“I’m really happy,” said Adam, speaking to Bees Player.
“It’s one I am going to remember all my life.
“I’m more pleased for the three points.
“I didn’t know where Farid was going to play it.
“I tied to guess where it was going to drop.
“Luckily I got the right place and put it in with my left foot.
“I would like to get as many goals as I can.
“I had been getting frustrated, I had a lot of chances and near misses and thankfully it paid off today.”
Adam said Brentford deserved the win, although Oldham started the better.
He paid tribute to Brentford’s back line for the clean sheet that earned the points and said Brentford had to build on three straight home wins with some away victories.
“We started a bit slow but we picked it up, the lads really dug in and we deserved the three points,” said Adam.
“We create chances every game, we’ve had a problem putting it in the net in recent games but hopefully it will come.
“The lads at the back worked really hard and Simon Moore was brilliant, he came for a lot of crosses.
“He made a few great saves.
“We have been unlucky with half chances that go in against us.
“Hopefully our luck is changing.
“We want to make this a fortress.
“We want teams to come here and fear us.
“We now need to pick up points on the road.”
