Brentford Manager Mark Warburton said his side would go to The City Ground tonight to impose their style of play on Nottingham Forest.
The Bees travel north tonight to face Forest in a Sky Bet Championship match that will kick off at 7.45pm.
They will go there on the back of a win over Derby County on Saturday, a victory that knocked their opponents off the top of the table.
Forest have not won in nine in all competitions and have slipped from league leaders, on September 17, to tenth.
Mark said the home side would be keen to change things and would have a big crowd behind them.
But he said if his players did their jobs well, they would be OK.
“They have gone through a rough time, they will be keen to change that,” said Mark, speaking to Bees Player on Monday.
“It is up to us to go there full of confidence and do what we have to do to win the game.
“We have to impose our way of playing.
“We won’t go defensive; we want to do our Plan A well.
“If we do that we will be OK.
“They are a big club, fantastic stadium and history but we are not playing the history.”
Mark said his side had to take the sting out of the game against a team that would be wound up by boss Stuart Pearce, a legendary Forest and England left back.
“Their players will be hungry,” said the Brentford chief.
“Everyone knows what Stuart Pearce was like as a player, his team will be prepared to go out and deliver a 100 per cent performance in front of an expectant crowd.
“They are nine games without a win.
“It will be a huge test.
“We have to take the sting out of the game and play it the way we want.”
Mark said Forest had talent through the team in the shape of striker Britt Assombalonga, who has scored nine goals, former Arsenal man Henri Lansbury, seven-goal winger Michail Antonio, midfield players David Vaughan, Chris Burke and Tom Ince and defender Michael Mancienne.
But he said The Bees would be prepared.
“Vaughan comes deep, we know about Antonio, Burke and Ince,” explained Mark.
“They have Lansbury and an outstanding forward in Assombalonga.
“Mancienne is a Rolls Royce of a centre half.
“We will do our homework, as will they.
“We will rest well and prepare well and look to deliver a performance.”
Brentford came from a goal down to beat Derby on Saturday.
They trailed to a Chris Martin strike but Andre Gray equalised just after half time and Stuart Dallas smashed home a winner in the last minute.
Mark said Derby – who lost the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final to Queens Park Rangers last year – have a squad packed with quality but it showed how good Brentford were that they could beat them.
“It is a positive result,” said Mark.
“But, as we told the players, it is three points whether you beat the team at the top of the table or the team at the bottom.
“They are one of the favourites for promotion and are very unfortunate not to be in the Premier League after the way they played against QPR at Wembley.
“They have a strong squad packed with quality.
“It shows the quality we have in the dressing room.
“It shows the work-rate and character we have, allied to that quality, and it was an outstanding performance.”
Mark said his team had to prepare for every game like it was a cup final as every three points was vital.
He said The Bees got their rewards on Saturday when in other games they had not.
He said Brentford were a high-intensity team, a fact commented on by Derby boss Steve McClaren, and there would be times when it did not all come together.
“In this league, every weekend top beats bottom, there can be some bizarre results and no easy games,” said Mark.
“You have to prepare for a cup final every week, we have to treat it that way, every three points is vital.
“Afterwards Steve McClaren said we were relentless and had tremendous work-rate, that is great to hear and testament to the players.
“It is also testament to the medical and conditioning staff, it was an all-round effort.
“That is how we play, it is high tempo, high intensity.
“We have had some really good displays this season and on Saturday we got our rewards.
“There are teams in this division with real depth of squad, we need to keep our main players fit and the rest of the boys not playing every week at the right levels.
”If we get a bit of luck to go with it we will be in good shape.
“But we also have to be realistic.”
Mark paid tribute to the Brentford fans for roaring his team on against Derby.
“The crowd plays a huge part,” he said.
“I thought we were a bit quiet in the first half and Derby were loud but we had to change that.
“The early goal changed that.
“When the second goal went in the place erupted.
“That drives the players on.
“The crowd really helps.
“Since August 15 last year we have played 31 league games at home and lost four.
“That is an outstanding record.
“It is testament to the players but also to the supporters.
“There will be days where we will get hurt and there will be mistakes.
“That is part of learning and I hope the crowd aren’t too critical on days like that.”
Saturday saw the return of Sam Saunders, who was named as a substitute after around ten months out with injury.
He came in to the game after playing 45 minutes for Brentford’s Development Squad against Crystal Palace last week.
Alan McCormack underwent ankle surgery on Monday but Nico Yennaris and Richard Lee are on their way back from injury.
Mark said Sporting Director Frank McParland and Owner Matthew Benham deserved credit for the strength in depth he could call on.
“Sam is full of enthusiasm,” said Mark.
“He loves playing and training, he is infectious.
“Sam knows the Club, he knows where the Club has come from.
“To have him around is a huge boost for us.
“He has had a long arduous road back to fitness.
“He has worked his way back, played 45 minutes last week and warranted a place on the bench.
“He will work with the medical team but it is great to have him back.
“We have a few still out and Alan McCormack has had his operation now.
“Moses Odubajo stepped in at right back on Saturday and Nico Yennaris played for the Development Squad again.
“We need players to cover those injuries.
“It is testament to Frank McParland and Matthew Benham we can lose Alan and have a player to slot straight in.”
