Marinus Dijkhuizen gave his verdict on the 3-1 home loss to Reading, who picked up three points at Griffin Park.
The Dutchman conceded the defeat was “very disappointing”, adding “especially the first half how we played, how we organised,” said Marinus. The second half was much better, a good goal with some chances to get a draw but finally it was 3-1.
“There were a lot of chances against us and our keeper made some good saves, it was a very average first half.”
Marinus made two tactical substitutions early in the game, with Alan McCormack and Josh Clarke replacing Toumani Diagouraga and Andy Gogia.
“I was not happy how we were playing and I thought the team needed some spirit,” said Marinus. “Alan came on to give some spirit and energy in the game and at the break I put Josh Clarke to give us some more speed. I think the guys that came in did a good job.”
The Head Coach also confirmed that subject to paperwork, striker Marco Djuricin would be joining Brentford on loan from Red Bull Salzburg.
“We don’t have strikers on the bench and you need some,” said Marinus. “It was the same last week so I’m glad Marco is coming over when the paperwork is done. He makes good runs behind the backline; I’m happy with his arrival.”
