Emmanuel Oyeleke said Brentford’s Development Squad wanted to beat Millwall after losing to the South London side earlier this season.
The Bees were beaten by The Lions 3-0 in August but got their own back by beating them 2-0 yesterday.
Emmanuel, known as Manny, scored the first goal before Luke Norris added a second late on as Brentford took the points in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South clash.
“It was a tough game,” said Manny, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“They had a lot of the ball in the first half but we stuck at it.
“It was a good team performance and a good win.
“They have been a bogey team for us.
“We have lost to them this season.
“We had some fire in our bellies to put that right and that helped us.”
Manny’s goal came late in the first half when he curled an unstoppable free kick in to the top corner.
He said he was trying to score but admitted it is not something that he tried often.
The midfield player tried the trick again a few minutes later and missed the target by some way.
“I only became a free kick specialist when I took it,” he said.
“If you look at the second one, it wasn’t that good.
“I’m happy with the goal.
“I was aiming for the far corner, luckily it went in.”
Luke Norris, who played up front on his own, scored Brentford’s second.
Manny said Development Squad Manager Jon De Souza told the players they needed a two-goal cushion.
“It’s always important to get the second goal,” he said.
“At half time Jon said the next goal was vital.
“We were very happy to get it.
“Luke worked really hard today and got what he deserved.”
