Louis Hutton is hoping there will be a sizeable crowd for Saturday’s Development Squad fixture at Griffin Park against Huddersfield Town.
With no First Team game due to the international break the Under-21s will be gracing the Griffin Park pitch this Saturday, kick off 3pm, for their latest Under-21 Professional Development League Two South game.
The Academy players have been hard at work selling tickets for the game and it is hoped there will be a bumper crowd at Griffin Park on Saturday.
Speaking to Bees Player ahead of the match midfielder Louis Hutton said it would be a great feeling to walk out to a big crowd on Saturday.
The 20-year-old added that it would give the players a big boost playing in front of so many Bees fans.
“We are trying to replicate the First Team,” said Louis.
“Quite a few fans have bought tickets and hopefully it will be nice weather and they will all come.
“We are looking for a good atmosphere.
“It is a nice change from playing on the pitch at the training ground so it will be good.
“A good atmosphere would add something completely different to what we normally get.
“Usually there are only 20 people watching.
“Obviously there are coaches and people who we are there to impress but when there is a bit of an atmosphere and there are kids signing it adds to it and gives you a boost especially if they are supporting us.”
On top of playing at Griffin Park the Under-21s will be treated to a First Team style preparation to the game as well.
From a pre-match meal to the walk to the ground everything will be done to best replicate the routine of a standard Sky Bet Championship home game.
Louis has been involved with the First Team squad before: he was an unused substitute for last March’s trip to Carlisle.
The midfielder believes that anything that can be done to prepare players for future first-team careers is a big benefit.
“Playing in the First Team out there is the eventual aim so we have got to get used to it at some point,” said Louis.
“We are hoping to do the full day as first-team so we want to go to the hotel before the match and walk over.
“These little things do help.
“Obviously there is going to be a bit of a change and things are going to be a bit different if you go with the first-team.
“If it is not a big change then you are not going to be as shocked when you go up with the First Team.
“You don’t have to worry about what you need to wear, what time is dinner, where is dinner or whether you are going to be late.
“You can just focus, if you get on the pitch on, that you are going to play well.”
The Bees go into the game against Huddersfield Town on a run of only one win in five competitive games this season.
Last time out The Bees were beaten 4-1 away at Sheffield United and Louis believes that there has been a big reaction in training to that defeat.
The midfielder said that The Bees squad are desperate to put their performance against The Blades right and there would be no better place to do it than at a noisy Griffin Park.
“Training has been good and we have been enjoying it,” said Louis.
“We have had a bit of a break since the last game so we have been able to do quite a lot of training.
“Now we are looking forward to the match.
“We have had a few first teamers join us on Thursday, Friday is a light session and then we get ready for the match.
“There had to be a reaction in training from the Sheffield United game and I think there has been.
“We know that it wasn’t a good result and that we have to bounce back and hopefully on Saturday we will bounce back.
“We need to show we can win a game and need to win a game.
“I think we have played better in the last few games even though results might not have showed it.
“We should have beaten Colchester United but we didn’t.
“We drew with Sheffield Wednesday and even though Sheffield United beat us 4-1 it wasn’t a 4-1 game.
“We did lose so we have to bounce back.
“We have seen signs that we are playing better but the results have got to come so there is a bit of pressure on.
“Griffin Park on Saturday in front of a few thousand people would be the best place to start.”
The Terriers have enjoyed a solid start to their season and have nine points from their opening five games of the season.
Louis is expecting a tough game against a team he knows well from his days at Leeds United as a youngster.
“We are expecting a tough game,” said Louis.
“Obviously we always focus on ourselves wanting to dominate the ball and dominate the game.
“We will have to be wary of them because they will be a good team.
“I have played them since I was nine and it has always been a tough match.
“When I was younger I played them every year twice a year.
“I have got a few friends there who will be playing at the weekend.
“I will tell the boys what to expect but they know what to expect.
“They are a Yorkshire club and will be in the similar mould to Sheffield United and the other teams we have played.
“It will be a tough game.”
