Mark Smith helped Hampton and Richmond Borough to a sixth win in seven matches as they moved seven points clear at the top of the Ryman Premier League on Saturday after a 2-1 win over Billericay Town. Brendan Kiernan headed the home side ahead in the first-half but former Brentford player Glenn Poole equalised for Billericay with 20 minutes to play. However Alan Dowson's side were not to be denied as Moussa Diarra scored late on to wrap up a fourth straight league success. The Beavers head to fifth placed Kingstonian on Saturday before hosting Leatherhead at home on Easter Monday.
In La Liga Jota made his return from injury on Friday night as Eibar picked up a point away from home against Getafe. Emiliano Velazquez gave the home side an early lead which they held until three minutes from time only for Borja Baston to rescue a point for Eibar with a close range finish. Jota, who joined The Basque side on loan in January, played the final 16 minutes after missing nearly a month through injury.
Daniel O'Shaughnessy was not involved in FC Midtjylland's 3-2 defeat to SønderjyskE as he joined up with the Iceland Under-21 squad for their match with Poland on Wednesday. FCM raced into a 2-0 lead inside 21 minutes against the Danish Superliga's surprise package thanks to goals from Filip Novak and Martin Pusic. However the Jutland side scored twice in three minutes at the start of the second-half through Nicolai Madsen to level and then completed the turnaround late on courtesy of Mikkel Hedegaard's long-range effort. The result leaves Midtjylland fifth in the table, four points behind second-placed SønderjyskE.
