Alan Judge's hopes of going to this summer's European Championships have received a boost after he was named in the final 33-man squad for the Republic of Ireland's upcoming friendly matches. Martin O'Neill's side face Switzerland on Friday 25th March before facing Slovakia four days later. Both matches will be played at The Aviva Stadium in Dublin as O'Neill looks to finalise his squad for this summer's tournament in France.
The 27-year-old midfielder is Brentford's top scorer this season with 14 goals in 36 appearances and he has also contributed nine assists. Alan was named on the bench for Ireland's 1-1 Play-Off First Leg draw in Bosnia and Herzegovina but has yet to make his senior international debut. The former Blackburn Rovers player has been capped at Under-18, Under-19, Under-21 and Under-23 level.
The Republic of Ireland have been drawn in Group E for this summer's Championships, their first match being against Sweden on Monday 13th June before they face Belgium on 18th June and Italy on 22nd June.
