Hampton and Richmond Borough tightened their grip at the summit of the Ryman Premier League on Saturday after a 3-0 win at Grays Athletic. On loan Brentford goalkeeper Mark Smith missed the trip to Essex through illness but Alan Dowson's side made light work of a freefalling Grays thanks to a goal from Moussa Diarra and Brendan Kiernan's second-half double. The win leaves The Beavers six points clear of the only team who can catch them, Bognor Regis Town, ahead of their season finale at home to Enfield Town on Saturday. Bognor are at home to Brentwood Town tonight in a rearranged fixture before hosting Hendon on Saturday, anything less than six points will see Hampton promoted even if they lost on Saturday.
In Spain, Jota was a late substitute as Eibar came from behind to record a long overdue win against Real Sociedad. David Zurutuza put Sociedad ahead early on but the Basque side levelled before the break through Sergi Enrich. Gonzalo Escalante scored the decisive goal on the hour as Eibar leapfrogged their opponents and back into the top 10 in La Liga.
Daniel O'Shaughnessy was also not involved as Rilwan Hassan scored twice to keep FC Midtjylland in the hunt for European Football next season. His first came on the half-hour as he converted Andre Romer's cutback and he wrapped up the win for FCM in injury time. The victory moves FCM up to third in the Danish Superliga just a point behind SønderjyskE in second.
