Four Brentford players out on loan are on the verge of winning promotion with their clubs and moved closer this week despite three of them not playing.
The one that was in action – Will Grigg – helped Milton Keynes Dons to a 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday, April 20.
That win leaves The Dons third with two games of the season remaining.
They are a point behind Preston North End, who face fourth-placed Swindon Town on Saturday, April 25.
A division lower, three Brentford players – Development Squad defender Alfie Mawson and First Team duo Nico Yennaris and Sam Saunders – are on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.
Wycombe were not in Sky Bet League Two action this week but two close challengers were.
The Chairboys are third in the table while Bury, fourth, and Southend United, fifth, went head-to-head on Tuesday.
Southend won the game 1-0 which means Wycombe remain third with two games of the season to go.
They are, however, only there on goal difference.
None of Brentford’s other players out on loan – Richard Lee, at Fulham, Nick Proschwitz, at Coventry City, Development Squad pair Emmanuel Oyeleke and Lionel Stone, at Woking, Tyrell Miller-Rodney, at Maidenhead United, Louis Hutton, at Godalming Town, or Montell Moore, at FC Midtyjlland – were in action this week.
