Danish International Lasse Vibe gave his post-match reaction to the win against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
“It was a tough game,” said Lasse. “A lot of things happened in the first half. Obviously the red card changed the game a lot. We tried to open them up after that, then we scored our goals and did a good job.”
The 28-year-old marvelled at the quality of the strikes by Andre Gray and Philipp Hoffman, which sealed the three points for Brentford.
“We scored two really beautiful goals in the second half,” said Lasse. “They were one man down but we tried to keep up the pace. It was dry out on the pitch there so we sometimes needed to take an extra touch, which slowed us down a little bit.”
The home side were restricted to few chances in the second half as Brentford dominated play after the break, capitalising on the red card shown to Luke Freeman for a high kick on Harlee Dean.
“What happens sometimes is that when you get a man sent off the other team fights more so it’s still a tight game,” said Lasse. “But today, they let us have the ball and we played round them.
“We talked about it in the half time break, to keep moving the ball because eventually they won’t be able to follow us, and that’s what we did and it gave us the three points.”
