Loanee Kadeem Harris won the penalty that secured victory at Crawley Town on Saturday, and described to Bees Player the move that sent referee Graham Scott pointing to the spot.
“When the ball came to me I just had one thing on my mind,” said Kadeem.
“It was one versus one against their right back – that’s the sort of player I am, I like to take players on, that’s what I did, and thankfully I got a penalty.
The Cardiff City wide man, at Griffin Park until January, described the victory.
“It was a difficult game,” said Kadeem.
“We knew what to expect when we came here – they made it hard for us – we had to grind out a result.
“I think the boys did well today, we scored early, and to keep a clean sheet, the manager was pleased and every one of us was pleased as well.
Kadeem’s arrival has seen a return to League One for the 20-year-old, but he’s noticed a change since his spell at Wycombe Wanderers.
“I think I’ve matured a lot as a player,” said Kadeem.
“That’s what you do as a footballer all the time, you mature, I’ve done a lot of learning at this level, since I’ve come to Brentford I’ve enjoyed every single bit.
“[The] consistency, and me playing every week, will hopefully help me learn, and hopefully we can keep winning as well.
“In the last eighteen months [at Cardiff City] I’ve learned a lot, coming back to League One from my time at Wycombe, I knew what to expect, and that’s definitely helped.”
Kadeem mentioned that playing in front of much larger crowds now he’s stepped back up to First Team football has not made a difference to his play.
“I don’t think you notice it too much when you’re playing,” said Kadeem.
“You block everything out as a footballer, get on with it, and get the job done.”
