Jeremy Steele's Youth Team fell to a hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Huddersfield Town in the Under-18 Professional Development League Two South on Saturday morning.
The Terriers went ahead after eight minutes as Liam Coogans swept home after a fine pass by Regan Booty and had further chances to extend their lead in a first-half they dominated.
Brentford started the second-half brighter but were hit just before the hour as Ronan Coughlan doubled the host's lead from close range and Huddersfield wrapped up the points in injury time through the impressive Rekiel Pyke.
The Bees were forced into four changes from the win over Crewe as Chris Mepham,Tom Field, Danny Parish and Kyjuon Marsh-Brown all missed out being replaced by Rob Mensah, Audrius Laucys, Makhosini Khanye and Noah Amissah.
Huddersfield, who were North section Champions last season, started the match on the front foot while Brentford struggled to retain possession for any length of time.
It was no surprise when the hosts took the lead after eight minutes as Booty played in Coogans and he lifted a fine finish over the on-rushing Jordan Carey from 15 yards.
If any Bees fans might have thought that goal would have spurred Brentford into action they were to be disappointed.
Apart from a tame Zain Westbrooke effort and a Makhosini Khanye free-kick that was tipped over the first-half belonged exclusively to the hosts.
With both sides playing a diamond in midfield there was plenty of space for Huddersfield's full-backs to get forward and they used that to their advantage.
From a Jack Senior cross Carey got a vital touch to turn Pyke's shot onto the post and from the rebound Booty was denied by Laucys block.
Fraser Horsfall dragged a shot wide while Carey made a great double save to block from Pyke before getting a fingertip to prevent Laucys putting into his own net from the rebound.
Pyke whipped a shot wide from eight yards before Bradley Carroll missed a glorious chance to double the hosts lead on the stroke of half-time but he lofted his shot over the bar from 10 yards.
The Bees could hardly have been worse in the first-half but they did start the second-half much brighter without really threatening to level the scores aside from a Jeremiah Kamanzi shot which was straight at Tadhg Ryan.
However they were hit just before the hour as Carey's made a good save to deny Coogans but Coghlan was first to react to tap home from close range.
Courtney Senior saw a shot deflected wide for The Bees while at the other end Horsfall struck a post from eight yards after he had well controlled a deep free-kick.
Both sides were creating chances in the second-half but the hosts were creating far the better chances.
While Cole saw a brace of long-range efforts fly over the bar for The Bees Coughlan pulled a shot wide of an open goal from eight yards before Carey denied him with a fine save.
Ryan showed good hands to keep hold of a fierce Senior shot from distance while Carey made another good save to keep Pyke off the score-sheet.
Pyke had been a constant menace to Brentford's defence all afternoon and it was fitting that he had the final say as he turned home Senior's low cross from close range to cap off The Terriers win and get the goal that his performance deserved.
