Best of the Bees
Yehor Yarmoliuk (£4.8m) was the Bees’ top-scoring FPL player in Gameweek 6.
The midfielder registered eight points in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, courtesy of his goal and one bonus point.
Kristoffer Ajer (£4.5m) scored Brentford’s other goal.
Ajer was also unlucky not to register defensive contribution points. The defender recorded nine defensive actions, made up of clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles, against Villa. Defenders need to register 10 in a single match to earn two additional defensive contribution points.
Vitaly Janelt (£5.0m) was the only Brentford player to reach the defensive contribution threshold this week.
Midfielders need to register 12 defensive actions, with ball recoveries also counting towards their total. Janelt registered 14 against Villa.
Mamadou Sangaré (£5.6m) was also unfortunate not to earn defensive contribution points. Despite playing only 43 minutes, Sangaré registered 11 defensive actions.
Jaidon Anthony (£5.9m) and Igor Thiago (£7.8m) both registered assists, returning five and four points respectively.
The Spotlight
Janelt is Brentford’s second-highest FPL points scorer this season, with only Kevin Schade (£6.2m) having registered more for the Bees.
His 31 points include two goals, two clean sheets, eight defensive contribution points and three bonus points.
Across the opening six matches of the season, Janelt has registered 78 defensive actions, averaging 13 per match, above the threshold of 12 required for midfielders to earn the additional two points.
Janelt has also shown attacking threat this season. The midfielder has had four shots, three of which have come from inside the box, with two classified as Opta-defined big chances. He has also created five chances and supplied 13 crosses.
The midfielder also has set-piece responsibilities, giving him another potential route to points. Janelt has taken nine corners, seven of which have been successful, as well as one free-kick.
Best of the Rest
Jordan Henderson (£4.9m) scored twice, registered an assist and collected maximum bonus in Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth.
His Chelsea team-mate João Pedro (£7.8m) was also among Gameweek 6’s big scorers. The forward scored twice and returned 12 points.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s Maxim De Cuyper (£5.1m) has risen in price by £0.6m over the opening six Gameweeks of the season.
De Cuyper registered his third double-digit return of the campaign in Gameweek 6, collecting 15 points for his goal, clean sheet and maximum bonus.
Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£6.6m) registered 13 points in Gameweek 6. The midfielder scored, assisted and collected maximum bonus.
In Demand
Following his third double-digit return of the season, De Cuyper is currently the most-transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 7.
More than 272,000 managers have brought the defender into their teams since the Gameweek 6 deadline passed on Saturday morning.
His team-mate Pascal Gross (£6.0m) continues to be a popular pick. Gross was the most-transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 6 and is currently third for transfers in ahead of Gameweek 7, with a further 238,000 managers buying the midfielder.
Chelsea’s João Pedro was an injury doubt heading into Gameweek 6, having missed Gameweek 5 and international duty with Brazil through injury.
As a result, he was heavily sold ahead of Gameweek 6. But, after returning to the starting XI and registering a double-digit haul, he is now the second-most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 7, with more than 256,000 new owners.
Captaincy
Erling Haaland (£15.6m) looks set to be the most popular captain ahead of Manchester City’s home fixture against Ipswich Town.
The forward is also likely to be a popular Triple Captain option in Gameweek 7, with more than 103,000 managers already activating the chip.
Popular FPL picks João Pedro and Gross could provide differential captaincy options for their fixtures against Everton and Crystal Palace, respectively.
