Brentford defender Daniel O’Shaughnessy has been called up to Finland’s Under-20 squad for an upcoming friendly.
The 20-year-old defender joined The Bees this summer on a two-year contract after a successful trial.
He has been called up to Finland’s Under-20 squad for a friendly against Hungary.
The match, which is effectively an Under-21 match, will be played next Thursday, November 13, and is set to kick off at 1pm local time.
Daniel has been a regular in the Finland Under-21 squad over the past year.
He has made five appearances and scored in their last match, a win over San Marino.
Finland did not, however, qualify for the European Under-21 Championships, to be held in the Czech Republic next summer.
The Finland Under-20 squad for this friendly includes many players eligible for the 2017 European Under-21 Championships and qualifying will begin for that tournament next year.
Daniel joined The Bees after spending three years with French side FC Metz.
He was born in Finland but holds dual nationality with the Republic of Ireland.
He began his career with HJK Helsinki and spent time on trial with Liverpool in 2011.
