Brentford supporters were represented at the recent WorldNET Veterans tournament which took place at the Leeds University Sports Grounds.
WorldNET is a 16-team tournament for Veteran Teams (aged 35+) and hosts teams from around the country – from Exeter up to Stockport – and a popular contingent of Arsenal supporters who fly in from Nigeria.
Games are 30 minutes each and Day One consists four groups of four teams in each group.The team drew against Portsmouth 1-1 and lost to Watford and Stockport County.
Day Two games are seeded according to the group finishing places – Brentford were seeded to play Leicester City and were beaten 4-0. Despite losing heavily against Leicester the team, easily the oldest in the competition, had a great time mixing with other supporters and will be back next year. The aim being to last a little longer!
