Brentford's Development Squad will be able to get a taste of the first-team football environment as they take to the Griffin Park pitch this afternoon for their latest U21 Professional Development League Two South fixture. Flemming Pedersen's side take on Crystal Palace, kick-off 1pm, and entry to the match will be free for spectators via the Braemar Road turnstiles.
Flemming Pedersen's side are currently fifth in the table with 26 points from 20 games after last week's 3-0 defeat away at Bristol City. First half-goals from Adam El-Abd and Shawn McCoulsky set The Robins on their way before Connor Evans'
second-half penalty secured the points. The defeat means The Bees have now gone six matches without a win in 2016.
Palace have won their last two matches, against Colchester United and Ipswich Town, to close to three points behind The Bees. The meeting between the two sides in South London back in October saw Brentford net twice in injury time to secure a dramatic three points. The Eagles led 2-0 with just 20 minutes to play but Montell Moore pulled one back before Sam Saunders netted twice in the dying seconds to take the points.
To help prepare youngsters for first-team football, clubs are encouraged to play matches at their main stadium. Monday's game will be the third Under-21 fixture of the season at Griffin Park after October's 2-1 win over Bristol City and a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town earlier this month.
