On Saturday, Brentford Football Club was made aware of a racial comment posted on Twitter about striker Clayton Donaldson.
The Club takes all forms of discrimination very seriously and has been in touch with the Metropolitan Police about the incident.
All evidence gathered by the Club about the comment has now been passed to the Police and an investigation is underway.
Senior Club staff are in regular contact with the Police about the investigation and are being kept up-to-date on all matters concerning the case.
Brentford Football Club will further update supporters once this investigation has concluded.
