Chris Long said he was “really happy” to extend his Youth Loan from Everton to Brentford for another month.
The striker will now be at Griffin Park until the middle of March after his loan was extended yesterday, Monday February 23.
He has played five games for The Bees so far and scored his first goal in the win over AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, February 21.
“I was made up to sign on for another month,” said the striker, talking to Bees Player yesterday.
“I am really happy, especially after a good result on Saturday.
“Hopefully I can push us further up the league.
“I have been coming off the bench and I hope I have impacted the games.
“The results have mostly gone our way, some haven’t.
“I have enjoyed my time here.”
Chris has been used as a substitute in his time at Griffin Park, coming off the bench five times.
He said he wanted to help Andre Gray, who has been selected as the central striker for the majority of the season and scored 12 goals.
Chris got his goal on Saturday when he volleyed in an Alex Pritchard cross but said wins were more important than his personal goal tally.
“I am coming on to help Andre,” said the teenager.
“If he is tired I am trying to come on and affect the game.
“I hope I am doing that.
“The goal on Saturday was my best moment so far, it was one of my best games in a Brentford shirt.
“All I want is to win games.”
Chris had other chances to score on Saturday.
He tested Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc with a long range effort and also had a shot deflected on to the post.
He said the goal was a big relief.
“Bournemouth were second in the league, I am happy we got the job done,” said Chris.
“Before I came on the gaffer said they looked tired.
“We thought I could get in behind them.
“I did and took my chance.
“There were a few chances before, I hit the post.
“It was a bit behind me but I got it in.
“It was a big relief because I have been waiting for a goal for so long.
“It meant a lot, especially as we got the win.
“I felt the crowd needed another goal and I was happy when we got it.”
Brentford are seventh in the Sky Bet Championship table with 14 games remaining.
They play Blackpool at Griffin Park tonight and will be looking to close an eight-point gap on leaders Derby County.
“The squad is in very good shape and we have players coming back,” said Chris.
“I think we can get on a good run.
“This is a good time to be here, we are only focussed on trying to get to the Premier League.
“We have Blackpool to come and just want another three points.”
