Head Coach Lee Carsley is expecting a tough game when Brentford meet Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday, but insists the team will be fully prepared.
“Preparations have been good,” said Lee. “We’ve done a bit of video work on them and obviously it’s important we’ve spoken about the Hull game and debriefed that to make sure that the players are up to scratch on what’s coming up, and what they’ll be up against.”
“I’m looking for a positive response. The couple of goals we conceded on Tuesday night could have been stopped so it’s important that we take on board the mistakes that were made and learn from it. We’re more than capable of doing that and it’s a game the players are looking forward to.”
Brentford travel North on Saturday having only conceded in one of their last four matches, facing a team in Rovers who have only scored in one of their last five. This gives Lee, who played for The Blue and Whites for a period in his career, confidence looking ahead.
“For me it’s obviously a massive part of the game,” said Lee. “Even though we want to be good to watch, and be attacking, it’s ultimately about making sure we keep clean sheets and making sure we are giving the defenders a bit of cover as well.
“I’m expecting a tough game, they have still got some quality players in the team with threats all over the pitch.”
