George Saville said the ambitions of Brentford Football Club persuaded him to move to TW8 on loan from Chelsea.
The tall left-footed player, who turned 20 earlier this month, joined The Bees on loan from Chelsea until January 5.
George turned professional in 2010 and had a spell on loan at Millwall last season.
He played for Chelsea’s Under-21 side in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League last season and also for The Blues in the NextGen Series, the Under-19 tournament for the Academy teams at some of Europe’s top clubs.
He said he had decided to go out on loan for the start of the 2013/14 season and although he had other offers, he wanted to come to Brentford.
“I had a few talks after my loan spell at Millwall last year,” explained the midfield player, speaking to Bees Player.
“I spoke to my agent and to Chelsea and we talked about the best option.
“That was for me to come on loan.
“I wanted to be playing football at a good side.
“There were other clubs that came in but I wanted to come to Brentford.
“We thought Brentford was the right club because of the ambitions here.
“I want to be part of a good club with a good philosophy.
“It’s nice to be playing in a winning side and playing well.
“It’s better to be at a club pushing for promotion than one looking not to get relegated.
“Everyone is looking forward to the season.”
George joined Chelsea from Reading when he was an Under-13 and started out as a left back.
He has also played in the centre of defence but has been predominantly used by The Blues in midfield.
He said he will play where he is needed and was looking forward to the start of the season.
George reported for pre-season training with the Brentford squad yesterday and will head to Germany with the squad at the weekend.
“I will do what the gaffer tells me to,” he said.
“I am predominately a centre midfield player but I can do a job in defence.
“I want to get straight in to it.
“It’s good to be part of it at the start.
“We go to Germany for a few days, which will be good.
“You get to know each other quicker.
“I am looking forward to the season.”
