Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said the players and staff had an “open and honest” discussion after the Sky Bet League One defeat against Stevenage.
The Bees were beaten 2-1 in Hertfordshire yesterday after taking an early lead.
Brentford dominated the early stages and went ahead when Clayton Donaldson converted from close range after Jonathan Douglas had exchanged passes with Shaleum Logan and then Marcello Trotta and burst in to the box.
But they lost the lead within minutes when David Button failed to clear a back pass and was robbed by François Zoko, who scored.
The Stevenage striker scored a second soon after and the hosts took the points.
Uwe said there was a discussion in the dressing room after the match and it was important that everyone laid their cards on the table.
He said everyone now knew what was expected of them.
“We have had a good chat in the dressing room,” said the Brentford Manager, speaking to the press after the match.
“I wanted some answers.
“The players were very open and honest in their feedback.
“The staff were honest too.
“It was a good talk and was well needed.
“It is difficult to stand here and explain a defeat; we should have won the game.
“We need at times to lay all the cards on the table.
“We have been working for nearly two and a half years.
“New players have come in and we have changed the structure and balance of the team.
“At times, you think things are 100 per cent clear and maybe it is not always like that.
“We had a good chat, an important chat.
“Everyone in the dressing room knows the score and what is expected from everyone, including the staff, including me.
“Everyone knows the targets for the upcoming games.”
Uwe said Stevenage’s equalising goal affected his team.
“We started the game very well,” he said.
“We had three big chances in the first ten minutes.
“We got the first goal through very good combination play.
“That was the way we wanted to attack them, that was the plan.
“Individual mistakes meant they got a goal out of nothing and we did not continue with the same consequence we started with.
“We lost a bit of confidence again.”
