Brentford fan Simon Cox, accompanied by four football fanatical teammates, created history this week, completing the first ever Four Stadium Challenge inside 23 hours and 23 minutes.
The challenge was set by Simon, Chris Curry, Anthony Foreman, Malcolm Blackburn and Phil Goulding by visiting all four of the national stadiums of the home nations, England (Wembley Stadium), Scotland (Hampden Park), Northern Ireland (Windsor Park) and Cardiff (Millennium Stadium) navigating the challenge by using four different methods of transport.
Leaving Wembley at 7pm on Wednesday, October 15, the team headed north to Hampden Park on a long and tiring road journey, arriving at 2am before facing a further two hours travelling in the dark to Cairnryan on the west coast of Scotland to the ferry terminal.
After a two hour wait in the cold for the ferry terminal to open whilst their support driver David Cox headed back to Wembley with the vehicle, the team boarded the ferry at 6.30am to head to Belfast across the Irish Sea, arriving at 9.45am where their connecting taxi would meet them to take them to Windsor Park.
At Windsor Park the team paused for photographs before a whistle stop tour of the city and boarding the 12.40pm plane to Cardiff Airport and heading off to the Millennium Stadium.
With just 25 minutes to find their way inside the stadium, pause for photographs and head off to Cardiff Central station, the team boarded their train at 3.25pm to face the two hour journey back to London Paddington for 5.35pm arrival in the middle of the city's rush hour.
Faced with crowded underground trains, little sleep and nowhere to sit, the five fundraisers arrived back at Wembley Stadium at 6.23pm to meet their support vehicle.
Simon said: "We are absolutely exhausted and drained from the challenge, but knowing we completed the challenge and have raised over £1,600 for Niamhs Next Step has certainly made it worthwhile.
"Everything went to plan, but the lack of sleep and the team being unable to relax with forthcoming travel changes ahead of us all the time, the team were superb at working together and achieving our goal of becoming the first group of people to successfully complete the challenge."
