Jan joined The Bees in the summer of 2015 after his contract at 1. FC Köln expired. The German Under-18 international had been with Köln since he was 15 and played for them in the Under-17 and Under-19 Bundesliga. Jan made his Brentford debut in the EFL Cup against Exeter City last August after featuring for the First Team in pre-season, he was also an unused substitute against Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Uerdingen 05 are currently third in the Regionalliga West, the fourth tier of German football, the same level at which Jan spent the second-half of last season on loan with Wuppertaler SV, where he scored three goals in 13 appearances

Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, Rob Rowan said: “Jan was finding it difficult to break into the First Team at Brentford and I think it was in everyone’s best interest for him to continue his career elsewhere. Uerdingen will provide him with the opportunity to play First Team football again and hopefully progress to higher levels as a player. On behalf of everyone at the club we wish Jan good luck with this move and for the rest of his career.”
