Brentford Women B booked their place in the Capital Cup quarter-final on Sunday, thanks to an 8-0 win over Denham United Reserves at Bedfont Sports Club.
Leah Robertson stole the show with six goals, as Karina Hlek and Ava Slade added a goal each in the dominant win.
Robertson and the Bees wasted little time in stamping their authority as they scored inside the first few minutes. Pressing Denham’s goalkeeper, Robertson won the ball back before putting it into an empty net for the opener.
The second didn’t take long to come, as Georgia Wood played a neat ball between Denham’s centre-backs to Robertson, who found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and made no mistake, doubling the Bees’ lead.
Despite their early dominance, the west Londoners couldn’t find another goal before half-time, however, they took a comfortable 2-0 lead into the break.
As she did in the first half, Robertson scored inside the first minute of the second half to secure her hat-trick. Receiving the ball from Nadia Jaffer, Robertson beat the final defender and finished well into the bottom right corner.
She had her fourth four minutes later. Brentford goalkeeper Sophie Boycott’s long ball found Hlek down the left side, with the winger pushing into the box before crossing to Robertson, who finished from close range.
The lead was five four minutes later, this time substitute Slade making her presence felt. After picking the ball up in the midfield, Slade made her way past multiple Denham defenders before sending a strong strike into the bottom-left corner from outside the box.
The hour mark ticked over and it was Hlek on the end of a neat ball to score. Freya Morgan regained the ball near the edge of the box before finding Hlek, who put the ball into the bottom right corner.
Hlek had her second assist of the day soon after. Boycott came out of her goal to secure a cross, playing quickly to Morgan who linked up with Hlek. Her pass found Robertson, who scored at the near post to make it 7-0 with 12 minutes to play.
With 10 minutes to play, Robertson secured her second hat-trick of the afternoon, regaining the ball before finishing well to wrap up a dominant Brentford performance.
Brentford now turn their attention back to the Greater London Division One South, as they welcome Regents Park Rangers to Bedfont on Sunday.
