It was a momentus day at Griffin Park on Wednesday and the national media were there for the closest possible look. Brentford beat Swansea City 3-1 with goals from Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Marcondes and Bryan Mbeumo. That ensured a 3-2 aggregate victory in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final and The Bees will play Fulham at Wembley on Tuesday for a place in the Premier League.

But it was also the final ever game at Griffin Park. The Bees have played in that corner of West London for 116 years but their next game will be at their new stadium a short walk away. With so much at stake and history being played out, some of the nation's best-known journalists were on site to file their copy.

Jonathan Liew, of The Guardian, wrote this piece about the game and also discussed Brentford's win on The Guardian Football Weekly Extra podcast. That podcast featured Swansea City fan Ellis James and Barry Glendenning, who was part of Thomas Frank's pre-match press conference. Listen to that here.

The game was also discussed on The Times' football podcast, The Game. Brentford fan Natalie Sawyer presents that podcast and spoke about the game and what is to come. Listen here.

There is plenty more to read about the game for Bees fans. Miguel Delaney, of The Independent, wrote this while The Times sent Chief Football Writer Henry Winter to the game and this was his report. There was a lengthy report on the BBC website, here, and extended coverage on iNews, here. Meanwhile, Sky Sports have published an interview they conducted with Brentford FC Head Coach Thomas Frank after he was named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for June. Read that here.
