Sam Saunders’ Brentford Under-21s are back in Premier League 2 action at Wheatsheaf Park on Sunday against Everton Under-21s (1pm kick-off BST).
The young Bees have enjoyed an unbeaten start to their season across all competitions and will look to make it three league wins from as many games on Sunday.
This week has been the side’s first double gameweek of the season so far, having travelled north to face Hull City on Tuesday night in the Premier League Cup.
The west Londoners will be back on the road on 18 September as they face Manchester United at Progress with Unity Stadium.
Last time out
Saunders’ side came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Hull City last time out in the PL Cup.
After going behind after 21 minutes at MKM Stadium, Isaac Holland found the equaliser on 35 minutes from a Riley Owen assist.
Previously in the PL2, a Kaye Furo hat-trick propelled the Bees to a dominant 5-1 win over Sunderland.
Fábio Carvalho and Owen also scored in the second half of the game, helping Brentford sit second in the league table on goal difference behind United.
About Everton U21s
Everton come into Sunday’s game 24th in the PL2 table with a draw and a loss from their opening two games.
The young Toffees drew 1-1 with Liverpool in a Merseyside derby to start the campaign, before falling to a 2-1 defeat against Southampton last time out in the league.
Everton are also competing in the EFL Trophy this season, where they lost their opener 6-3 to Stockport County.
They’ll also contest the Premier League International Cup, losing their opener 2-1 to AC Milan.
Most recently, the Toffees beat Hartlepool United 1-0 to kick off their National League Cup campaign.
