Brentford B have completed the signing of free agent Luca Picotto on a one year-deal; the club has an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Picotto signs after a trial period, during which he has shown a level of consistency with his performances in games and a strong work ethic in training.

The 18-year-old defender, who was previously at Fulham, has featured in two games for Brentford Under-21s in the Professional Development League this season, playing against Hull City and Huddersfield Town.

Picotto was also a regular for Sam Saunders' side in pre-season.

When called upon, Picotto has impressed with his composure and confidence, stepping into the team seamlessly.

Brentford B head coach Sam Saunders said: “Luca has settled in really well since coming on trial with us and he’s made a very positive impression on both the staff and the players. He has demonstrated his quality throughout his trial, training with intensity and working hard in games.

"He is a reliable player who adds healthy competition to what is already a very strong squad, and that will only push his team-mates further. His attitude has been spot on and he shows a real desire to keep improving every day.

"We’re looking forward to continuing to work with him and helping him take the next steps in his development.”
