Brentford B defender Chanse Headman has joined National League South outfit Maidenhead United on a month-long loan deal, subject to FA and Premier League approval.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed his best season to date in west London, featuring consistently for Sam Saunders’ side across the Professional Development League and Premier League Cup.
The centre-back has featured 19 times for the B team this term, most recently in the 3-0 PDL win over Swansea City Under-21s, where he added the third goal.
Headman will join a Maidenhead side that currently sit 13th in the National League South.
Speaking about the loan, Saunders said: “It is a great development opportunity for Chanse and we are hoping that the experience he is going to gain will be invaluable for him and his career."
Saunders added that playing under a familiar face in Ryan Peters, who is academy head of education at Brentford as well as interim first-team manager at Maidenhead, would be beneficial.
“It’s a really good time for Chanse to sample men’s football, especially over the Christmas period when there will be lots of football played,” he said.
“This move gives Chanse a valuable opportunity to understand the physical and tactical demands of the level.
“Knowing Ryan well, he’s in good hands and we expect Chanse to showcase his qualities.”
Maidenhead are next in action on Saturday as they host Hornchurch at York Road Stadium (3pm kick-off).
