Brentford Football Club have completed a deal to bring Jake Bidwell back to Griffin Park on a Youth Loan.

The 19-year-old spent six months at Griffin Park last season on loan from Everton.

Jake played 25 games for The Bees last season, both at left back and on the left side of midfield, missing only three games after making his debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Barnet.

He has initially signed for one-month with a view to extending the deal.

Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said: “I am very pleased to welcome Jake back to Brentford.

“He fit in very well to our squad and our style of play last year.

“He knows what we do at Brentford and that will be an advantage to all of us.

“Jake comes to us on a Youth Loan but has a lot of experience at our level.

“The left back position is very important in our diamond system.

“We needed to bolster the squad in that position.

“We have two or three options to play on the right side but only Scott Barron on the left.

“Both Jake and Scott will get a number of games; I look forward to working with them both.

“There will be very good competition between the two and that will make us better.”

Sporting Director Mark Warburton said: “It is a pleasure to see Jake return to the club for a second spell following his very successful period with us last season.

“Uwe has always sought to have good balance and cover in every position and as such, we worked throughout the summer period to find the best quality players available to give us a squad capable of taking the club forward.

“Jake of course fits this bill and to see him back at Griffin Park will give everyone a clear indication of our intentions. Jake has enjoyed an excellent pre-season with Everton and featured in many of their first team matches.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Everton staff for their most professional conduct in the many discussions we had over recent weeks concerning Jake.”
