Brentford have signed midfield player Tom Adeyemi from Norwich City on loan.

The Bees have secured the services of the 20-year-old until January 28 2013.

Tom joined Norwich as a schoolboy and turned professional at Carrow Road in 2008 when he was 17.

He was part of the Norwich squad that won the League One title in 2009/10, playing 17 games in all competitions, and spent the following season on loan at Bradford City.

Tom joined Oldham Athletic for most of the 2011/12 season and played 45 games for The Latics, including both fixtures against Brentford and has been cleared to play in both JPT and FA Cup.

Manager Uwe Rösler said: “Tom has been on the cards for a long time and was the player I wanted to bring in from day one.

“We kept in close contact with Chris Hughton, and were always aware about Tom; the plan was to bring him in earlier but he needed a little bit more time.

“I saw him playing on Monday against Bolton and he has returned to full training and full fitness.

“He has a little way to go but I think he will already be involved in our squad for Saturday.

“He’s a dynamic midfielder, who adds to us very good ability, is good on the ball, powerful and adds height and an enormous amount of work ethic.

“He’s already had around 80 appearances behind him, so for such a young player he is already experienced.

“I’m very thankful to Norwich City manager Chris Hughton in that for a promising player like Tom, he thinks the right arena for him to develop is Brentford Football Club.”

Sporting Director Mark Warburton said: “He adds another layer of quality to our squad and will give Uwe and his staff another option in the fight for midfield places.

“Tom had a most successful loan spell at Oldham last season and showed his many qualities whilst appearing in almost 40 games for Paul Dickov's team.

“He is a tall, elegant midfielder with excellent physical attributes, combined with good technical ability and an eye for goal.

“Tom is highly regarded by his club, and overcame a metatarsal injury at the end of last season that delayed his arrival until he was fully recovered.

“I want to welcome him to Griffin Park and very much look forward to watching his performances in the weeks and months ahead.”
