Remy Bennison struck late as Brentford Under-18s beat MK Dons 4-1 to win the Merit League 2 on goal difference.

Michael McSorley grabbed a brace with two great finishes, Freddie Taylor came on as a second-half substitute to score the third and Bennison scored the vital fourth goal in dramatic fashion.

Adam Poliakov should have given the team the lead when he was played through on goal but the MK Dons goalkeeper made a great stop to deny the Bees the opener.

The home side took the lead as a loose pass from Mikel Francis allowed Brogan Matthews to find the net.

The Bees were the side on top and Bennison went close, driving a shot at goal but the keeper made a good stop at his near post.

Lydia Bedford’s side found the leveller early in the second period through McSorley who pounced on a loose pass and finished well.

Omaru King went close as he was quickest to a through ball but his attempted lob just went over the bar.

McSorley grabbed his second to give the Bees the lead. Brandon Annous played a fine through ball for the striker to finish past the goalkeeper.

Bennison went close with a right-footed shot that just went over the bar.

Brentford were pushing for the goals needed to win the league and Taylor set up a grandstand finish, smashing into the net from close range following a scramble in the box.

The deserved goal to confirm the Bees as league winners was scored by Bennison deep into stoppage-time, as he composed himself and arrowed a powerful shot into the net.
