Brentford Under-18s are bound for Greece as they prepare for friendlies against Panathinaikos U17s and AEK Athens Under-19s.

The six-day tour in the nation's capital will see the young Bees take on Panathinaikos at Georgios Kalafatis Panathinaikos Sports Center on Tuesday, before they face AEK Athens at the club’s training ground on Thursday.

Kick-off times are to be confirmed for both games and will be communicated on Brentford Academy’s social media channels in due course.

It’s been a busy period for Gary McDermott’s side, having travelled to take on Watford on Saturday in the Professional Development League.

Once they are back from Greece, the west Londoners will return to PDL action when they host Cardiff City at Jersey Road on 28 February.

Last time out

The west Londoners were victorious in their last outing, beating Watford in the PDL 6-4.

It was an exciting game for the neutral as despite taking a 2-0 lead early on, Watford responded with three goals.

It was a back and forth game but in the end, the Bees proved to be too strong and clinical on the day. U16s forward Jai Nwosu led the attacking display as he grabbed a brace to help McDermott's side take all three points.

The upcoming tour will be the U18s' first time outside the United Kingdom since their trip to Denmark to face FC Copenhagen in November.

McDermott’s side battled bravely, however eventually fell to a 3-2 loss to the talented Danish outfit.
