Brentford came from behind at a blustery MKM Stadium to leave Hull with a point on Saturday, and Dango Ouattara has the wind in his sails after a first Premier League goal of the season.

The Burkina Faso international was a threat throughout for the Bees and struck from close range in the 63rd minute to cancel out Oli McBurnie's first-half penalty for the hosts.

Both sides had chances in a competitive affair, with 24-year-old Ouattara proving a menace with his pace and unpredictability. No player on either side registered more shots (4) than the Bees winger, who also played three key passes and delivered five crosses during an eye-catching display.

Lively in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool a week earlier, Ouattara started on the right of Brentford's attack, with Igor Thiago through the middle and Kevin Schade on the left.

Jaidon Anthony was named on the bench, but Brentford's strength in wide attacking areas was underlined by the summer signing's immediate impact following his introduction just after the hour.

Fed by fellow substitute Mikkel Damsgaard, Anthony delivered in a teasing cross from the left and, after good work from Thiago, Ouattara was on hand to fire home the equaliser.

Ouattara also linked well with Michael Kayode on the right, with the Italian full-back creating more chances (4) than any player on the pitch, in addition to making more interceptions (4) than any Brentford player.

With the versatile Keane Lewis-Potter among the most productive full-backs in the Premier League this season, Keith Andrews has plenty of options out wide. The Brentford head coach will also be encouraged by his side's delivery from wide areas, with the Bees currently leading the top flight for accurate crosses (47).

Brentford are one of only two teams unbeaten away from home in the Premier League this season, alongside Liverpool, yet are also among just three sides still searching for their first victory on the road, along with Manchester United and Sunderland.

Andrews' side nevertheless carry a real cutting edge in attack, averaging a goal every 51 minutes this season. Only Brighton (11) have had more different Premier League goalscorers than Brentford (10), following Ouattara's first league strike of the 2026/27 campaign.

Mamadou Sangaré v Hull City

Shorn of the suspended Vitaly Janelt and Yehor Yarmoliuk, Mamadou Sangaré started alongside Aaron Hickey at the base of Brentford's midfield and the former Lens midfielder delivered another impressive performance.

The Mali international had more touches (99), completed more passes (81) and won more tackles (6) than any Brentford player. His ability to snap into challenges has helped him climb to third in the Premier League for tackles won, despite five of his eight appearances this season coming from the bench.

That neither Ouattara nor Sangaré is guaranteed a place in Andrews' starting XI speaks volumes about the strength in depth of Brentford's current squad.
